Butler & Stag Take the Plunge for St Clare Hospice
What a day to remember! Four brave members of the Butler & Stag team took to the skies to raise money for St Clare Hospice, jumping from an incredible 14,000 feet in the air.
Originally planned for October, our skydive was postponed due to bad weather - but that only added to the anticipation. When the new date finally arrived, the excitement (and nerves!) were sky-high.
The adventure began with a 1.5-hour drive to Peterborough, where our skydiving experience would take place. After arriving and registering, we had some time to take in the atmosphere before our briefing session. The instructors explained what to expect, and soon it was time to get harnessed up and ready for take off.
As the four of us climbed into the plane and lined up inside, the reality began to sink in. The 15-minute ascent felt like a lifetime as we climbed higher and higher - until the doors finally opened.
Then came the moment of truth. One by one, we leapt into the open sky. The initial sensation was indescribable - free-falling at 120 mph through freezing air felt almost surreal. At -10°C, the cold wind blasted our faces, but the adrenaline took over.
After about a minute of thrilling freefall, our parachutes deployed, and everything slowed down. Suddenly, the rush turned into calm. We could finally take in the incredible views - the countryside stretching out beneath us, the golden sunset painting the horizon. It was a six-minute panorama of pure awe.
And then, just like that, we were back on solid ground. The feeling of accomplishment and gratitude was overwhelming - not only for completing the jump, but for supporting such a meaningful cause.
This unforgettable experience reminded us what teamwork, courage, and community spirit can achieve. A huge thank you to St Clare Hospice for the amazing work they do and to everyone who supported us on this journey.
A massive well done to Michael, Ella, Steph and Svetlana for their bravery and accomplishment.
We may have come back down to earth, but our spirits are still soaring!
