ESTATE AGENTS FESTIVE drawing COMPETITION

The latest Butler & Stag estate agents boards erected on local properties are even more brightly coloured than usual. The local estate agent, based in Theydon Bois, continued its support for Lambourne Primary School and promote the School's Christmas Fair.

A drawing competition was held within the school asking pupils to illustrate what Christmas means to them. The winning design is featured on the special festive boards.

The winner was 8-year-old Evie Gordine who rose to the challenge after her teacher, Miss Rees, shared some ideas. Evie said "I took an outline and made it more interesting. I didn't realise Christmas was so near, so it made me really excited and I started thinking about all the fun I was going to have! That and making sure my friends weren't copying me!"

The school received a donation from Butler & Stag for each board erected and a contribution to the programme for the School's Christmas Fair.

Evie's prize was to see her winning design displayed on the boards plus a brand-new art and colouring set, presented last week by Butler & Stag's Tony Games accompanied by Head Teacher Sarah Noden.

She said "We are so grateful to Butler and Stag for supporting our village school and our pupils loved the competition. Schools are always looking for ways to raise additional funds and inspire their pupils so continued support like this is much appreciated."

Neil Leahy, MD, Butler & Stag said "There were over 100 designs to choose from and each member of staff selected their best three. We chose Evie's picture as the colouring and festive message was clear. It was evident that she has taken her time in the creation and we also found the miss-spelling of Christmas endearing, reflected Evie's age. Feedback has been great with many compliments about the idea and how striking the boards look."

Supporting local youth is a feature in the Butler & Stag calendar. Earlier this year they supported the Theydon Bois Playground Appeal; donated football kits to Buckhurst Hill Youth Football Club and most recently new netball kit for the girls at Theydon Bois Primary School.
